Turkey Hunting After I Quit My Job

The first episode of Country Outdoors EVER! We quit our jobs, climbed into a beat-up truck with nearly 300,000 miles on it, and committed to three straight months of turkey hunting with no backup plan. From Osceola turkeys in Florida orange groves to longbeards in Georgia, this trip was full of blown setups, missed shots, broken truck parts, surprise SUCCESS, camp cooking, and plenty of laughs along the way. We bounced between camps, hunted with friends, outfitters, and musicians, and learned quickly that turkey season doesn’t care about your plans. While the world was shutting down, we were living out of a truck, chasing gobbles, and figuring it out day by day. Turkey hunting — unfiltered, unpredictable, and exactly how it’s supposed to be.

Legendary Week Turkey Hunting in Georgia

This episode is a throwback to Spring 2020 with country singer Jordan Rowe, reliving the best week of turkey hunting we’ve ever had in Georgia. From long mornings and stubborn longbeards to unforgettable moments in camp, everything came together in a way that made this hunt truly special. It was a week filled with hard-earned birds, great friends, and the kind of memories that only come from time spent in the woods. Looking back, it’s a reminder of why we hunt—and why this week in Georgia will always stand out as one for the books.

Chiropractor in the Morning… Turkey Down by Noon

Turkey season doesn’t care if your back is broken. On Cinco de Mayo, I could barely stand up after throwing my back out. One chiropractor visit later (and yes… it felt like black magic), we were right back in the woods chasing spring gobblers. Probably not the smartest decision… but missing turkey season wasn’t an option. What followed was one of those hunts you don’t forget — pain, patience, calling, and a fired-up tom that committed. When that bird stepped into range, everything else disappeared.
